Work

The Temporary Foreign Worker Programme (TFWP) and the International Mobility Programme (IMP) are two of the major initiatives that award work permits.
For applicants whose employers receive a favourable Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), the TFWP issues work permits.
A successful LMIA verifies that a foreign worker is required to complete the task at hand and that no Canadian workers are available to carry it out.

A favourable LMIA is not necessary for IMP work licences. They do demand that the company post an offer of employment through their employer portal.
Canada grants two different kinds of work licences: open work permits and employer-specific work permits.

Work Permit Specific to Employer

The requirements for an employer-specific work visa include things like:
How much time a candidate can put in,
the place where an applicant works.
Before submitting an application for an employer-specific work permit, candidates must have received from their company either a favourable Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or an employment offer.

Work Permit Open

You can work for any employer in Canada with an open work permit, but they are only given out under certain conditions.

Programme for Temporary Foreign Workers

The TFWP is designed to assist Canadian firms in filling labour market gaps by assisting them in hiring foreign workers.

The TFWP consists of four streams: live-in carers, seasonal agricultural workers, high-skilled employees, and low-skilled workers.

Before entering Canada under the TFWP, foreign employees must obtain a work permit and an accepted job offer.

By utilising the LMIA, IRCC collaborates with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) to prevent foreign workers from claiming positions that belong to Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
